Long time no updates. Today we caught up on a bunch of yard work. Elm trees cut out of bushes, drip lines fixxed up, planted some more flowers. I took these pics of some of our baskets and flower pots.

Making Herself to Home

In 2 months Nubby has claimed the house as hers and has assumed the role of Queen of the House. She likes to run through the house with Sam and loves to have us shoot elastic hair bands in the air. That is the easiest toy for a little handicapped kitty to play with.

I brought home a little 3 legged heart stealer. The vet talked me into taking a look at her, she needed a special home. I had to help her out, she had been living at the clinic for a few months. She had been hit by a car a few months back and had endured many surgerys to save her leg. Nothing worked so they had to take it. It took 2 days to get her out from under the spare bed and actually come to us. She wanted to sleep in the closet as that was what she was used to at the clinic. Soon she warmed up to us, Sam the siamese, and miss Bailey the lab.

Maui Trip

Lynne and I left home at about 3:15 Wednesday morning to catch a 5:30 flight to SFO then a nice long flight to Maui. Luckily this time the Plane was only about 1/2 full plus we spent a little more money and had seats with a little more legroom.

We got in about 1:00 local time and went and hit Costco and a grocery store to pick up some food. Got to where we are staying at Kaanapali Shores around 4:00 Just spent the first evening kicking back at the room. Fixed supper and had a few homemade Mai-Tais.

The next morning we had breakfast then headed out to check things out down in south Maui. We went to Kihei and Wailea and checked out the resorts. Some very nice places in south Maui. We then came back to the room around 1:30 or so and had a little lunch in the room.

We then went to Lahaina and got our passes for a sunset cocktail cruise that departed at 5:00. They take you out on the ocean to go whale watching. They have an open bar plus serve you a pretty decent appetizer meal. The girls on the boat make a mean Mai-Tai. We seen quite a few whales and even got a Maui mugging, which is where whales swim around the boat and get so the captain has to stop moving until the whale moves on. I never did get a decent pic of a whale but they are a very neat sight to see.
